If you are using an android device and can browse the internet on wi fi but cannot see the google play market store, nor see gmail, and it just says no connection….it may be that ypur date and time settings are wrong.
It seems that without a mobile signal, the device may have difficulty retaining the correct time and tis affects access to the google servers.

The SE PC Companion software is required to update the SE Xperia Arc and other SE Android phones. In order to connect with PC Companion to update the phone software you need to disable USB debugging. BUT MyPhoneExplorer needs USB debugging to be on , in order to connect to the phone.
This simple heads-up might help someone (or me) in future.
To turn on / off USB debugging, go to Settings / Applications / Development
